We went home this weekend equipped with all the supplies to tile our bathrooms, walkin closets and utility room. Our plan was to get all of these spaces (approx. 330 sq ft) finished in 2 days! We were very optimistic and brought our How To book as a guide!
Well...sadly it didn't work out quite like we had planned! Friday night we arrived around 7 and got right to work laying the cement backerboard. Phil's mom and dad and my mom all helped us and by 1 a.m., we had finished. Exhausted, we all went back to their house.
Saturday a.m. we got a late start because we were so tired. Arrived at our house around 9 and got to work laying out the tile to see where the cuts would need to be made. Finally, we started spreading the mortar and actually laying the tile. We started in the back walk in closet (thankfully) and by 12:45 p.m., we had just finished that closet! To give you an idea, this was only approximately 50 out of the 330 sq ft we were attempting to have finished by that evening. 
Now, if you've never tiled before, let me tell you, it is HARD WORK! We did not have knee pads and I literally thought my knees were going to fall off. It was horrible! I was close to tears realizing how much we still had to do, not to mention that what we had done, really didn't look that great. Somehow when we laid it out in the dry run, all the lines were straight, but once we set the mortar, they were pretty crooked! My mother in law came in around 12:45, just getting off work, and my mom quickly asked her if there was anyone in town that could come rescue us. She made a call and actually went over to a man's house that does tiling and brought him over. By 2 p.m., we had handed the job over to him, which he promised would be completed in the next two weeks. Thank the Lord!
So, point of this post, if at all possible, hire someone who knows what they are doing to tile for you unless you just have a small, square room! Thanks though, to our sweet friend Al, for the great deal on the tile! You still helped us save $!
We are blessed to have some time off over Christmas where we plan to finish all the interior painting...I calculated that up and it looks like between all the rooms we are trying to finish, we will need around 10 gallons of paint...should be fun (can you sense the sarcasm!)

I know it is such hard work. I'm glad you guys found someone to finish it! And yes we saved $$ with Albert tile too!
Y'all are doing so good with the house. When it's all said and done, you'll be able to look back and say, "We did that."
