Progress on the House

We spent the weekend last weekend working at our house once again. We were able to take Friday off work and head up there on Thursday night so we could meet with our contractor on Friday. He was very nice and showed us everything he had been working on. We were very pleased to see the progress and it looks like things could be finished (depending on when the hardwood floors can go in) before Christmas! Now those of you who know me know my personality is very type A, almost obsessive compulsive about things being clean and in order and having a plan and checking things off my list. So construction, and the mess that goes along with it, is driving me nuts! It is completely against my personality to see the house in complete chaos and not be able to get in there and fix it all up the way I want it. It has definitely been a lesson in patience for me and fighting my instinct and rolling with whatever comes up next.
The leaves were beautiful!

Here is the kitchen with half the floors replaced.

And the living room with new subfloor.

And finally, I had to post this, we actually have a toilet on our front porch (thankfully it is more to the side and you can't see our house from the road!) I thought, "You might be a redneck if..." Oh goodness! This has got to get back inside asap! We have to install the tile in the bathrooms before it can go back in so we need to get to work on that!

The toilet on the porch is priceless. You will SO be able to look back and say, "Remember when...?" How very wonderful for you it will be to move in...how very sad for us!
