Grandmother Gentry

Meet Phil's great grandmother, Mary Gentry. When we were in Aliceville last weekend, we spent some time visiting with her. She is 111 years old, born on Sept. 4, 1897, and still going strong. While she doesn't remember who everyone is, she can still recognize her son and loves to sing "Jesus Loves Me" and "Ba Ba Black Sheep" (we think because she taught children's Sunday School for over 50 years).

Here are some fun facts about her:

She is the oldest person in Alabama.

She is #42 on the list of oldest people in the world (of course that changes every day as people pass away...a few weeks ago she was #47 so she's moving up!)

Phil's other great grandmother lived to be 100 so he has lots of longevity in his family!

We are headed to Orlando to see my sister and her husband and go to Disney World for Valentines Day! Have a great weekend!
